Donkey Beach

North of Kapaa, watch for cars parked along Hwy. #56 midway between the 11 and 12 mile markers, then hike out to the beach. Nude sunbathing (unless authorities decide to enforce anti-nudity regulations). Caution: strong currents and undertow.

Kauapea Beach

Popularly known as "Secret Beach," difficult to find, but spectacularly beautiful. North on Hwy. #56, go past the Kolo Rd. turnoff to Kilauea town, then right on Kalihiwai Rd. Curve left, then right onto unpaved road and continue down to end. Steep trail to beach is difficult; dangerous if wet. Nude sunbathing (unless authorities decide to enforce anti-nudity regulations). Caution: strong currents and undertow. High surf winter months.

Lydgate State Park

Off Hwy. #56, just south of the Wailua River, between Lihue and Kapaa. From the parking lot, walk south along the beach. Gayest area between condos and golf course.
